Hillsborough, NJ is located in the center of Somerset County, one of the most beautiful and affluent counties in the nation. It is a wonderful place to live as is seen by the fact that it placed 23rd in CNN Money.com's Top 100 Best Places to Live for 2007. Hillsborough has good schools and a great community spirit. Hillsborough has a nice mix of homes ranging from $160,000 for 1 bedroom condos up to listings for estates with 15 acres and more for over $1.5 million and everything in between.

Hillsborough also has a nice mix of suburban and rural areas, with almost half of the 54 square miles of the township being either preserved open space or working farms. Yet with all this beauty, there is a central corridor which has all the stores you would need. In addition, Hillsborough is located only a few miles from Bridgewater to the north, Princeton to the south Franklin Township and the Route 1 corridor to the east, where you will have access to dozens of malls and shopping centers. Flemington, NJ, which is known for its outlet stores, is also only a few miles to the west. Local restaurants and many places for entertainment are throughout Hillsborough and surrounding areas. The Sourland Mountain Preserve is a 2,870 acre preserve that stretches from Hillsborough all the way to the Delaware River with hiking trails that traverse pristine woodlands right in the heart of New Jersey.

Hillsborough is within an hour of New York City and about an hour and a half from Philadelphia, with public transportation nearby for the commuter.
